IBF' s grading system is based on the Dan system as applied in Japanese martial arts.


Grading requirements:


  1. 1.To grade people up to 1st. Dan level, the grading instructor must be 3rd. Dan or higher.


  1. 2.To grade people up to 2nd. Dan level, the grading instructor must be 4th. Dan or higher.


3. For gradings to 3rd. Dan or higher, the grading panel shall be composed of at least 3 BOD members.
