In recognition of, and respect for a practitioner' s contribution to the martial arts, and his/her level of expertise, the IBF wishes to issue titles as is custom in the japanese systems. The titles are issued by the BOD, and are considered after the recommendation of one or more members of the BOD. No one is allowed to apply for a title for him self.

1. 1.Renshi may be given to practitioners of 4th. Dan and above.
   

2. 2.Kyoshi may be given to practitioners of 6th. Dan and above.
   

3. 3.Hanshi may be given to practitioners of 8th. Dan and above.
   

To be eligible to the titles of Renshi, Kyoshi and Hanshi, requires some sort of publication on the theory of martial arts.

Other titles
Shihan is automatically give to any instructor that has students of 3rd. Dan or above.
